Beverley guildhall
The Guildhall was the traditional seat of government in Beverley from 1501 until the late 20th century. The building has splendid rooms, including a courtroom with stucco ceiling and panels by Guiseppe Cortese dating from 1762, and historic furniture that has been in place since it was acquired in the 17th and 18th centuries. Items on display include a set of "wait's" chains from the 15th century, and a unique mayoral bench known as a "bink".
